Long History of Hard Drive, stockpiling media, Input Devices,

By Justin Ehsan

The advancement of the hard drive effectively recent decades with a long excursion begins from items Primary Hard drive before praiseworthy innovation to date has been moved to the propelled engineering, and the improvement is extremely fast. I would menggulas some of them

HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD)

Hard disc (English: HARDDISK or HARDDISK DRIVE HARD DRIVE HDD abbreviated or shortened HD) is a hardware component that stores data and contain magnetic disk.Hard Disk invented and first developed by an engineer at IBM in 1956 the company named, Reynold Johnson. The first Hard Disk consists of 50 disks measuring 2 feet (0.6 meters) with a rotational speed of 1,200 rpm (rotation per minute) with a storage capacity of 4.4 MB . and now Hard Disk existing only has a width of 0.6 cm with a storage capacity of 750 GB. Largest capacity hard disk has reached 3 TB with a standard 3.5-inch size.
If opened, seen the Hard Disk at the end of the arm that is attached to the disc bertuas rotatable
The data stored in the hard disk will not be lost when not given voltage (non-volatile). In a hard disk, there are usually more than one disk to increase the data capacity that can be accommodated.
In the development of the Hard Disk is now physically become increasingly thin and small but has a data capacity is very large. Hard Disk is now also not only be installed in the device (internal) but can also be installed outside the device (external) by using a USB or FireWire cable.

HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD)

In the following, I will describe some of the developments of the Hard Disk from year to year.

1956: IBM RAMAC 305

Well, we will be nostalgic to 1956. At that time, IBM introduces RAMAC which stands for Random Access Method of Accounting and Control. The device carries an important innovation in the world of data storage. IBM 305 RAMAC was the first computer to use a hard drive with moving head called the IBM 350 Disk File.

At that time, the computer world is still using punch cards to store data. RAMAC 305 into new data storage solution that is more effective when it is being able to store data equivalent to 64 thousand punch cards, magnetic disk 50 into a 24-inch size. Magnetic disk is accessed by two mechanical arms controlled vacuum tube. How big is the size of the RAMAC? About the size of two large refrigerators with more than 1.5 meters high. To save it, it takes the room around 9 × 15 meters. Its weight is also quite heavy, about one ton, so it takes a forklift to move it.
RAMAC is also the first computer that offers random access randomatau data. Previous storage media, such as tapes, requires users to run it from the beginning to the end to find an information. Analogues such as searching for a song in the ordinary cassette directly look for songs on the CD. So it is quite clear and important advantages.

Surely IBM 305 RAMAC is more geared to large enterprises remember that time the concept of a personal computer is still there. This sophisticated computer rented for US $ 3,200 per month, the amount of which is fantastic for the year 1957. The selling price alone reached US $ 160,000.
Actually, how much does the capacity of the available data? Very large for that period, which is 5 MB.

YEAR 1961: IBM 1311

In 1961, IBM created the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) with a separate head menggunakkan in each component of the data which is also called Disk Storage Unit Control System Meganical International System. And the first that can Removable HDD (Can be removed or installed again) is the IBM 1311, which uses the IBM 1316 to save 2 million characters.

YEAR 1962: IBM 1301

Melaunchingh IBM 1301 disk with code "Advanced Disk File", which has 25 discs each have a size of 24 inches and a capacity of 28 MB.

1965: IBM Ramkit 2310

IBM launches hard-coded in 2310 "Ramkit" with a size of 14 inches hard disk has a capacity of 1,024 MB (1mb). The first hard drive that only use one disc.

1979: FUJITSU F6421 "Eagle"

Fujitsu introduced the first storage medium sized 10.5-inch disk drive F6421 coded "Eagle" with a capacity of 446MB using disk as 6 pieces with the size of each disk of 10.5 inches.

1979: Seagate Technology ST-506

Seagate Technology launch ST-506, is the first to use a medium sized 5:25 inches, disk drives with a capacity of 5 MB by using four
dish each measuring 5:25 inches.

YEAR 1981: SONY OA-D3OV

Sony introduced the first floppy drive with a size of 3.5-inch disk drive is the first 3.5-inch disk drives with OA-D3OV code with 0.4375 MB capacity comprising only a single 3.5-inch disk.

1983: Rodime RO352

Rodime introduced the first disk drive with a capacity of 10mb. disk drives are made with RO352 code consisting of two discs with each disc measuring 3.5 inches.

1983: Maxtor XT-1140

Maxtor introduced the XT-1140, is the first disk drive using eight fruit dish in control by intermediaries motor with the size of each dish $ 5.25 inches with a capacity up to 126 MB.

1986: Conner CP340

Conner Peripherals released hard-coded CP340, this 3.5-inch hard drive and a capacity of 40 MB by using two discs in it.

1986: Conner CP3022

Conner introduces CP3022 code with a hard drive with a capacity of 21 MB by using a single 3.5-inch disk.

1988: Hitachi DKU-86i

Launching Hitachi hard drive with code DKU-86i, in a claim that the first hard drive with a capacity of 1,890 MB by using eight disk.

1989: Western Digital Standard IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics)

In 1989, Western Digital makes a standard IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) hard drive for all sizes.

Harddisk is growing very rapidly starting in 1997. It was marked by a Giant Magnet Resistance (GMR) which was discovered by Peter Gurnberg, with DTTA-351 680, IBM can overcome the limits of 10GB.

YEAR 2004: Seagate SATA

In 2004, Seagate launched the first SATA hard disks with Native Command queing. HD capacity has reached 120GB. Compared with the previous 3 years, increased HDD capacity up to 6-fold.

2005: Samsung Hard Disk

Hard development kept going and now a year later, precisely in 2005, Samsung introduced a 2.5-inch hybrid hard disk, this HD using magnetic mechanical components and NAND flash memory that serves as a buffer fast.

2006: Seagate Penperdicular Recording, Momentus 5400.3

In 2006, Seagate launched Penperdicular Recording, Momentus 5400.3 a 2.5-inch high-definition, with a capacity of 160 GB which uses vertical recording technique.

2007: Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000

In 2007 Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 Hard Drive Terabyte launched first to market, with a capacity of 1000GB, or 1 terabyte. Compared to the previous year, HDD capacity increased nearly 10-fold.

2010: Solid State Drive (SSD) are not boisterous, power-effective, quick and exceptionally solid, the criteria for future HDD. SSD with the best limit is at present measured 256gb. On the other hand, Ssds have an inadequacy which is placed at the issue value which is extremely lavish contrasted with Hdds. Masters anticipate that despite everything it takes around 5 years to Ssds can match routine HDD limit at the same cost.

This is just impermanent so I can demonstrate to you a short data about the hard drive,.
